Two Suspects Linked to Commodore Mass Shooting Killed: Video

Two men believed to be linked to the deadly Commodore mass shooting in Linstead, St. Catherine, on Sunday were killed during alleged confrontations with the police on Thursday.

The suspects’ identities have not yet been disclosed to the public; however, they were fatally shot during two separate but connected police operations earlier today. According to reports, the first incident occurred in Jewels Estate, Knollis, Bog Walk, while the authorities were conducting a joint police-military operation at approximately 5 a.m.

An armed man allegedly pointed a rifle at the police team when they entered the premises in Jewels Estate. The officers took evasive action and opened fire on him.

An M16 rifle and a magazine with ammunition were seized at the scene, and the man was later pronounced dead. The second operation occurred later during the day, when a police team intercepted a vehicle in which several men were travelling along Grange Lane, Portmore.

According to reports, the men allegedly opened fire on the officers, who returned fire. One man was found injured after the shooting subsided, and a pistol was allegedly taken from him.

The injured man was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other occupants reportedly fled the scene. In footage recorded during the shooting, multiple officers can be seen surrounding a white motor vehicle. Several shots can also be heard as the officers suddenly back away from the car.

A total of nine people were shot in an area in Commodore known as ‘Big Yard’ by men posing as police officers. Four of the victims, including a four-year-old girl, died from their injuries.

At least two of the men who were fatally shot were related to incarcerated ‘gang-banger’ Glendon ‘Bull’ Amos. Amos was arrested this year and charged with multiple counts of murder, in addition to other offences.

The Commodore mass shooting is believed to be connected to gang violence.
