The police have captured two more prisoners after a total of nine men escaped from the Constant Spring Police Station in St. Andrew early Tuesday morning.
The prisoners have been identified as 19-year-old Richard Bishop and 23-year-old Talik Chambers. Bishop was charged with burglary and larceny, while Chambers was charged with identity theft.
As one of the nine men who fled the lock-up was captured shortly after in Cassava Piece, six remain on the run from the authorities. According to reports, the prisoners, some of whom had been charged for committing multiple violent offences, had escaped the police station by cutting through a grill and a metal door.
The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is urging anyone with information about the escapees’ current location to contact the authorities. The JCF is also advising the public that harbouring a fugitive is a criminal offence.
The JCF has shared that they are utilising their resources islandwide to recapture the men. The men who are currently still on the run from the authorities are:
-Kemal Kelly, a 25-year-old resident of the Mannings Hill district in St. Andrew, who was charged with assault at common law and using a firearm to commit a scheduled offence.
-Fray Mesias, an 18-year-old resident of Pinto, Stony Hill, St. Andrew, who was charged with rape.
-Brandon Ennis, a 26-year-old resident of Belvedere, Red Hills, St. Andrew, who was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon.
-Alonzo Espute, a 19-year-old resident of Cassava Piece, St. Andrew, who was charged with murder (stabbing).
-Junior Anthony Barnes, a 26-year-old resident of Iron River, Stony Hill, St. Andrew, who was charged with possession of a weapon and ammunition.
-Donque Douglas, a 25-year-old resident of Oxford Street, Kingston, whose charges are not yet known.
