A man was killed and the other saved by the police after residents in the parish of Westmoreland mobbed them moments after they allegedly killed a business-woman by the name of Latty.
It is reported that the deceased was involved in a slew of killings in the parish, with the most recent one being a Cash-Pot shop that was robbed and a business-woman killed.
The woman is identified as Lativa Helps also known as Latty, who owns and operates the sports bar, Latty’s Sports Bar and Restaurant in the community.
Residents argued that the suspects robbed the Cash-Pot vendor then killed the owner of the establishment. A motorists saw the men making a quick escape on a motorbike and used his vehicle to hit them off the motorcycle.
The angry residents then caught the two men and inflicted wounds in the upper body, feet, shoulders and face of one of the victims, while the other was handed over to the security forces.
A number of angry residents yelled “hand him over to us mek we deal wid him”. It was an immediate Jungle Justice for the murder of the business-woman who ran for her life and was chased and shot to death at her business establishment.
The police handcuffed and assisted the other man to the hospital under police guard pending investigations.
