Jamaican dancehall sensation Najeeriii has reached another major milestone in his fast-rising career after being named to Billboard’s prestigious 21 Under 21 Class of 2026, placing him among the world’s most promising young music stars.
The recognition is a significant achievement not only for the young deejay but also for Jamaica’s dancehall scene.
Najeeriii stands out as the only Jamaican artiste featured on this year’s list. Even more impressive, he is reportedly the only artiste on the list who is currently independent, without a record label, publisher or management team, making the accomplishment even more remarkable.
The Billboard recognition comes after an impressive run over the past year. Najeeriii ended 2025 by releasing his debut album, Book of Bob, a project that featured collaborations with Caribbean heavyweights including Govana, Popcaan, Skillibeng and Yung Bredda.
The album further established him as one of dancehall’s brightest young talents and introduced his versatility to a wider audience.
Rather than slowing down, the young artiste has continued to build momentum throughout 2026. He released two EPs: Gyalentine’s in February and Heatwavs in May, while also teaming up with producer MXSSIVH, known for working with Drake, on the motivational single “Still Standing.” The track reflects the determination to keep pushing forward despite the challenges that come.
His recent music also showcases his willingness to experiment beyond traditional dancehall. Songs like “Lagos” blend Afrobeats influences with his signature style, while “Victoria’s Secret” explores a smooth mix of R&B, trap and dancehall, highlighting his growth as an artiste capable of reaching audiences across different genres.
Long before earning Billboard’s attention, Najeeriii had already begun making a name for himself with fan-favourite tracks including “Paddle Boat,” “Panton,” “Rich Filly,” and “1Rifle.” His energetic delivery, catchy melodies, and authentic storytelling have helped him attract a loyal fan base both in Jamaica and overseas.
His consistent output has also earned him industry recognition, including a nomination for Best New Dancehall Artist at the 2026 Caribbean Music Awards, further proving that his rise is no accident.
