man gunned down after pleading his innocence in viral video

A man was on Thursday shot and killed by unknown assailants on Barnett Street in Montego Bay, St. James.

The deceased has been identified as Randane Vanhorne otherwise known as ‘Rasta’.

Randane was implicated in a shooting incident by a popular blogger which took place in Irwin District in the parish.

The blogger accused Randane of being the getaway driver who transported now-deceased Brandon Campbell to Irwin District last month where they shot and injured a man.

Brandon was shot and killed by a license firearm holder during the incident.

The blogger’s video accusing Randane of his involvement in the crime racked of tens of thousands of views on YouTube.

Randane then made his viral video pleading his innocence.

“Right now me a call to the public, anybody who see this video, put it pon unnu status and share it so the man weh put up mi picture can see it and tek down the video weh him do bout mi and apologize”.

“Mi can’t work good, mi can’t do nothing good, right now my life is in jeopardy.” Says, Vanhorne.

He continued, “people a tell lie pon mi over something weh mi don’t know nothing about. Mi go police station, mi go Freeport Police Station, mi go Barnett Street Police Station, mi go to mi lawyer, right now a Area One me a guh inna the mawning ya caz this thing well tragic and mi inna deep deep trouble right now.” Randane said.

He also stated that he was at work at the date and time that the incident took place.

Randane’s life was flipped outside down as friends and family distanced themselves from him.

He was also being evicted by his landlord who feared having an accused wanted man at his property.

“Mi landlord say mi affi leave because me a wanted man and me a getaway driver fi man weh mi deven know, fi places where mi deven guh”.
