A 43-year-old American actor and musical artiste who recently appeared in the film Bob Marley: One Love has been shot dead in St Catherine, just hours after arriving on the island.
Brian-Todd Anthony Boucher, popularly known by his Reggae/Dancehall stage name, Ras Ajai, was killed late Saturday in Waterford, Portmore, St. Catherine, police have confirmed.
Brian, who lived on Northport Way in New York, had only been in Jamaica a short time when the attack happened.
He is best remembered for his role as the infamous Jamaican gangster Claudie Massop in the Bob Marley biopic.
According to police sources, the actor and a 37-year-old man were walking along a roadway when a car pulled up.
One of the armed men got out of the vehicle and opened fire, hitting Boucher multiple times in the upper body before driving from the scene.
Boucher was taken to the Spanish Town General Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. The other man was also injured and is receiving treatment.
The St Catherine South Police are investigating the incident.
