Two suspects killed in reported police shootout after gas station robbery spree

The police have shot and killed two men believed to be connected to the daring robberies and shooting at several gas station in Kingston on Wednesday night.

An intelligence-led operation guided officers to the location of two of the suspects in Spanish Town, St. Catherine where the reported confrontation took place.

The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has already stepped in to probe the fatal shooting.

One of the deceased men has been named as 22-year-old labourer Xavier Flowers, also known as ‘Blacks’, from 31 St John’s Road in Spanish Town. The second suspect, only identified by the alias ‘Gunners’, reportedly hails from Waltham Park Road in Kingston.

According to reports, officers went to the area sometime after 9:00 p.m.

Upon reaching the suspects, the officers identified themselves, and the group of men allegedly opened fire first.

The police quickly returned shots, and when the shooting subsided, two men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

They were taken to the Spanish Town Hospital where both men were pronounced dead by doctors.

A 9mm HS2000 pistol with four rounds of ammunition was reportedly retrieved.

This comes just hours after four armed men robbed multiple gas stations, including one on Deanery Road where a female attendant was shot in the chest and left in critical condition.

The gang had hit stations along Maxfield Avenue, West Main Drive, and Harbour View before fleeing in a silver Toyota Probox motor vehicle.

Investigations continue as authorities hunt the remaining suspects.
