The two police men slain along Waltham Park Road in St. Andrew were identified as Jemarey Gordon, who is attached to the Counter-Terrorism and Organised Crime Investigations Branch (CTOC), and Charles Stewart, assigned to the St. Catherine North police division.
Reports indicate that the two police officers went to meet someone at 83 Lane around 8:00pm.
The officers were then approached by heavily armed men who indiscriminately opened fire on them.
Both men were rushed to the hospital and pronounced dead by doctors.
Security Minister Dr. Horace Chang has condemned the brutal slaying of the officers.
