Following several months of controversial live streams and accusations against her industry peers, Lisa Hyper issued an apology to Vybz Kartel while opening up about her mental health issues.
During a live stream, Lisa Hyper shared that she has been watching the content that she released during her relapse. The artiste said that she said many things about a lot of people, and as she reflects on what she did, she does not feel pleased with herself.
While she knows that she was not being herself, Lisa said that she still does not feel good about it, and as such, is issuing a public apology to Kartel and the people she hurt.
“I just want to apologise, publicly apologise, to all the people that I hurt: my family, my friends, my co-workers. Also, I want to apologise to my boss (Kartel), you know, because I know I had him crying, you know, seeing me in that state. You know, especially he’s here now. It’s not like when he was in prison,” Lisa said.
She went on to state that she now understands that her mental health issues are the reason why Kartel has been advocating for mental health transparency.
“I now realise that I am the reason for him speaking about mental health. Because I didn’t know he knew that I was going through what I was going through because we didn’t ever speak about it… Because we didn’t speak about it, I didn’t know he knew, and he was thinking about it like that. So I just want to apologise to my boss,” Lisa stated.
The Man Short deejay added that she is taking her mental health issues more seriously and is trying to ensure she stays on her medication.
