A taxi driver is under public scrutiny online after he was recorded vandalising a Jamaican Urban Transit Company (JUTC) bus that was carrying passengers along a section of Half-Way Tree Road.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday and was an apparent act of road rage. The taxi driver was reportedly picking up passengers at a bus stop across from the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) building when the JUTC bus stopped to pick up passengers as well.
Reports state that the bus driver did not immediately allow the taxi man to merge into the flow of traffic when he wished to leave, which caused him to get angry. The taxi driver reportedly exited his Toyota Probox and then began attacking the JUTC bus.
The incident was recorded by a passenger aboard the bus, and the taxi operator can be seen arguing with the driver of the bus and seemingly striking the front doors. The man then moved to the rear of the bus and reportedly struck one of the windows, shattering it.
After attacking the bus, the driver returned to his vehicle. Reports state that the taxi man crashed into another motor car immediately after attempting to leave the scene.
