Two cops have so far been charged with a triple murder that took place in East Kingston last Sunday.
Constable Kelby White and Corporal Mark Roye were charged with three counts of murder.
Other charges include using a firearm in the commission of a felony, placing an item on the scene of a crime, and lying to the police commissioner.
The cops were charged on Sunday following an investigation by the Independent Commission Of Investigations (INDECOM).
It was reported by the cops that around 1:30am, while on patrol, they saw a group of men along Windward Road; upon seeing the police, the men opened fire, and the police took evasive action and returned fire.
The three men were killed on the spot, and a police officer was injured.
Video footage of the shooting was caught on camera by CCTV which compromised the police’s initial report.
Another request has been made by the public to implement body-worn cameras on police officers.
Minister of Security, Horace Chang struck down the idea, stating that body-worn cameras are not a priority.
