In Waterford, Portmore, St Catherine, four people were shot in a gun attack on Monday night. Two died at the scene while others are fighting for their lives in the hospital.
The deceased have been identified as 26-year-old Antoine Andre Reid, also known as ‘Gong’, and 26-year-old Saheid Roache, both residents of Waterford.
The surviving victims, including a 17-year-old youth, remain under medical care. Their conditions have not been publicly disclosed by authorities so far.
No motive has yet been established for the sudden attack.
Police are actively investigating the shooting and appealing for witnesses to come forward with information.
One resident expressed her disbeliefof the horrific crime, “mi can’t believe Gong and Saheid are gone,” while shaking her head. “This violence hitting too close to home now.”
Another resident who wished not to be named, said sadly, “The young men deserve better, the whole place feels unsafe these days.”
