The police reported that they shot and killed another alleged member of the Sevens Gang, based in Waltham Park, on Thursday morning.
Police identified the deceased as 24-year-old Kirk Holton, also known as ‘Suga’.
According to police reports, around 5:00am, the Area 4 and 5 Fugitive Apprehension Teams went on a joint intelligence-led operation in Red Hills, St. Andrew, when they intercepted ‘Suga.’
Kirk reportedly pointed a firearm at the police, prompting them to shoot him.
Police reportedly recovered a .38 revolver loaded with five rounds of ammunition.
The police took Kirk to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.
Police shot and killed Holton exactly 24 hours after they fatally shot his alleged crony, Shaqcol Pounall, on Wednesday at Pounall’s residence on 1 Content Avenue in Kingston.
Authorities suggest that the Sevens Gang was responsible for the quadruple murder on Ayrshire Avenue, Kingston 10 on November 25, 2024.
INDECOM has reported that 98 men have so far been killed by the police since the start of the year.
Jamaicans For Justice (JFJ) and other human rights groups are calling for the use of body-worn cameras on members of the police force.
