One man was shot and killed by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force on Crescent Road, Kingston early Tuesday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Brandon Reid otherwise known as ‘Redman’ of a Crescent Road, Two Mile address.
Reports are that sometime around 3:30am a police team was parked on Crescent Road when they observed a man running across the road.
The police team approached the suspect who was then shot and killed in a confrontation.
Residents blocked the roads protesting the police killing and demanding answers.
The Independent Commission Of Investigations INDECOM is probing the matter.
This marks the 29th male fatally shot by the Jamaica Constabulary Force as of 2025.
The use of body-worn cameras by members of the police force is still being debated.
Minister of Security Horace Chang says body-worn cameras are not a priority.
