CPFSA intervenes after video-recording of bullying goes viral

A video circulating on Social Media with two boys bullying a younger child at a Primary School in Portland has caught the attention of The Child Protection and Family Service Agency (CPFSA).

In the viral video, one boy can be seen holding the younger boy in an attempt to let another schoolmate hit him in the head.

After resisting, the older boy kicked and punched his young schoolmate until he was partially unconscious.

The CPFSA has identified the boys involved and has sent a team to the school.

Laurette Adams-Thomas, The Chief Executive Officer of the CPFSA has described the actions of the boys as “disturbing”.

We are imploring all students to speak up on bullying amongst their peers,” Thomas said.

She further stated, “I am encouraging all persons to report bullying and all forms of child abuse.”

The Portland Police are also investigating the matter.
