Suspected robbers killed by the police, multiple fatalities

Four suspected robbers were reportedly killed and one seriously injured in a broad daylight shooting in Negril, Westmoreland on Friday morning.

One of the deceased has been identified Ankar Forrest of Geneva District in Grange Hill, Westmoreland.

Reports are that the men were traveling in separate motor cars plotting to rob a Berrylium armored truck.

The police acting on intelligence intercepted their motor vehicle and a shoot-out ensued.

The alleged robbers reversed their vehicle over the banking and into the sea in an attempt to elude the law men.

After the firefight ceased, five men were found suffering from gunshot wounds.

The sting operation was led by the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Counter Terrorism and Organized Crime Branch, C-TOC.

They were taken to the hospital awaiting an official report on the fatalities.

Six firearms were seized.
