Jamaican Footballer ‘Jamie’ gunned down in New York

A shooting in Queens, New York early Tuesday morning has left one man dead and another in the hospital being treated for gunshot wounds.

The shooting took place at the corner of 199th Street and Hollis Avenue at around 4:30am.

The deceased have been identified as 33 year-old Jamie Robinson, otherwise known as ‘Stone Love’ of a Pink Lane address in the Kingston parish.

Jamie Robinson is a well-known footballer who plays for the Tivoli Gardens F.C and Jamaica’s National Team.

According to the NYPD reports, Jamie was coming from a night club when he was attacked.

The motive for the shooting is uncertain at this point and no arrest have been made. Investigations are ongoing.

Videos circulating on the social media showed paramedics trying to save Jamie’s life.
