Dotta Coppa and his steady rise to fame

Dotta Coppa whose given name at birth is Marlon Ricardo Morsby was born in St. Mary in 1989 and raised in Kingston.

Dotta Coppa’s musical career was influenced at an early stage by his eldest brother as well as stalwarts like King Yellowman, Sizzla and Bounty Killer.

Growing up in the ghettos of Kingston, dealing with the everyday struggles of life was just a mere fraction. Dotta Coppa was born with albinism and therefore was faced with a lot of discrimination and challenges. Fortunately that wasn’t enough to stop this lyrically inclined and versatile artist from soaring to great heights.

Dotta Coppa was discovered at Big Yard by the infamous Vybz Kartel, after which his music quickly went viral on the internet and the dancehall-scene worldwide.

Working with producers and artists across the globe, Dotta Coppa recorded the hit single and dancehall anthem “We Love Dancehall” with the german based producers Dancehall Station which opened new doors and enabled him to complete a tour in Europe.

Currently based in Mülheim an der Ruhr in the center of the „Ruhrgebiet“ the largest urban area of Germany, he has been releasing numerous projects including his debut album named after his Hit Single „We Love Dancehall“.

Dotta Coppa has been building a fan base in Germany and was published in Newspaper articles which led to interviews for german TV-Stations where his music was also featured. Appearances in advertisements for popular german car company VW and sports brand like Adidas are also results of his unique image and work.
