As robberies continue to rise across St. Catherine, the moment thieves held multiple patrons at a bar at gunpoint was caught on CCTV footage.
According to initial reports, the incident took place on Sunset Avenue in Passage Fort, Portmore, on Monday night. In the footage, a woman and two men can be seen seated at a bar counter across from several slot machines.
Though the footage is partially obscured by a fan, it appears the thieves first accosted several people outside the bar and instructed them to go inside. One of the robbers, clad in a black shirt, knee-length denim pants, and a hat, is the first to enter, and he is quickly followed by multiple people seemingly being forced in by his accomplice.

The man in the black shirt goes on to search one of the men at the bar while his accomplice, armed with a handgun and donning a ski mask, searches a woman at the slot machines.
The masked man later instructs the victims to hand over all of their valuables, which he collects in a box. Both men are later joined by another masked man before they exit with the stolen items.
According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Serious Crimes Report for January to August 2, 2025, there have been 29 robberies in St. Catherine North and 40 robberies in St. Catherine South so far this year. According to the statistics, there has been a 123.1% and a 21.2% rise in robberies in those areas, respectively, when compared to the same period last year.
