Vybz Kartel Releases Gospel Song and Previews New R-Rated Dancehall Single: Videos

Fans of Vybz Kartel were surprised on Monday with a new release from the Unstoppable deejay. However, unlike his latest additions to his catalogue, Kartel’s new release was a gospel track.

Since the overturning of his murder conviction and his subsequent release from prison, Kartel has shared his appreciation and newfound closeness to God on multiple platforms. During an appearance on GQ Magazine’s popular 10 Essentials series, the artiste shared that he promised God that he would never stop praising him and being positive if he was released.

Kartel released the official audio for Glory of Jesus, a cover of the Grace Thrillers’ song of the same name, on YouTube. Before belting out the well-known lyrics to the gospel song, Kartel states in the single’s intro that he wants to be used as a vessel for God.

“Dear Lord, I want you to use me as a vessel, Lord, to spread your word and your gospel to the ends of the world,” Kartel states.

The deejay has released Christian-influenced music before, but never an actual Gospel track.

Kartel may have just released a Gospel single, but the artiste is gearing up to release a song more in line with the rest of his catalogue. Following the release of Glory of Jesus earlier today, the artiste shared videos on his Instagram page of him and music producer Rvssian working on new music.

While only a few lines of the unreleased single were shared, the new song certainly won’t be making rounds in a church anytime soon.
