A forty-one-year-old business owner from Tavern Crescent is facing multiple charges after he allegedly shot a man in his buttock.
The shooting occurred in St. Andrew on Monday, April 14, at approximately 1:21 p.m. According to reports from the Matilda’s Corner police, the accused, Damian Douglas, and another man got into an altercation on the day of the incident.
During the altercation, Douglas, a licensed firearm holder, pulled out his gun and fired shots at the man multiple times. Following the incident, the authorities were called to the scene, and they found the victim suffering from a gunshot wound.
The man was transported to a medical facility for treatment and admitted. Reports state that the man was shot in his left buttock.
Douglas was arrested after he turned himself in to the authorities eight days later on Tuesday, April 22. The police conducted a question-and-answer session in the presence of Douglas’s attorney, and he was later charged.
The restaurant owner has been charged with wounding with intent, using a firearm to commit a felony and discharging a firearm in a public place. Douglas’s first court appearance is scheduled for tomorrow at the St. Andrew Parish Court.
