The 99th person was shot and killed in an alleged confrontation with the police on Terminal Road, Old Harbour Bay, St. Catherine early Friday morning.
The deceased has been identified as Oshane Rowe, also known as ‘Daddy1’.
Reports from the police are that a team was in the area in search of drugs and guns at around 5:20am.
While searching multiple houses, the now-deceased reportedly pointed a firearm at the police team.
He died on the scene.
Authorities transported him to the hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
Police reported retrieving a 9mm Browning pistol with a magazine containing 7 rounds.
Members of the community cried foul, claiming that the victim was sleeping and didn’t have any weapons.
“A cold-blooded murderer them, kill the man innocently and a tell lie,” said one resident of Terminal Road.
The Independent Commission Of Investigations INDECOM is probing the incident.
