Man gunned down after arriving in Jamaica identified

A Jamaican man who had just stepped off the plane was shot dead minutes after leaving the Norman Manley International Airport.

The deceased has been identified as Rohan Campbell, a 48-year-old from an address in St. James.

Reports are that, shortly after arriving on the island, Rohan boarded a JUTA Tours taxi from NMIA at around 2:00pm

Upon reaching a traffic light along the Sir Florizel Glasspole Highway, a Probox motor vehicle stopped beside the taxi, and a lone gunman alighted from the vehicle and shot Mr. Campbell multiple times in the head and upper body.

The taxi driver drove to the Rockfort Police Station on Windward Road, and Mr. Campbell was seen slumped over inside the vehicle.

The JUTA Tours driver was not injured.

The police have yet to determine a motive for the killing.
