Man’s Decomposing Body Found in Ditch in Manchester

Investigators attached to the Manchester police are currently probing the circumstances surrounding the death of a man whose decomposing body was found with what appeared to be gunshot wounds in the parish.

The discovery was made on Sunday, September 7. The deceased has been identified as Oraine Kelsey.

Kelsey, who was also known by the alias ‘Bad Bush’, was a resident of the Good Hope District of Manchester. It is not yet clear when he was last seen alive before he was discovered dead.

Kelsey’s body was seen lying in a ditch along the roadway in Ramble. According to preliminary reports, Kelsey’s body was stumbled upon by a passerby at about 11:40 a.m., who later alerted the authorities.

After the police arrived at the scene, the officers observed that he had what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds. The scene was processed, and Kelsey’s body was removed from the area.

He was later officially pronounced dead by doctors at the Mandeville Hospital. The police have not yet established a motive for the shooting.

The Mandeville Criminal Investigation Branch is leading the probe into Kelsey’s murder. According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s Serious Crimes report, Manchester recorded 19 murders and 18 shootings between January 1 and September 6.
