Two men, one of them a reported gang leader, were shot and killed on Tuesday during an alleged confrontation with members of a police team following the suspected abduction of an elderly man.
The deceased men have been identified as 32-year-old Kiman ‘Kimmy’ Foreman, who was also known by the alias ‘Nicey’, and Oshawn ‘Rifleman’ Morrison. According to reports, Leslie Roberts, a resident of the Bito District in St. Andrew, was reported missing by relatives prior to the shootout, which occurred in Version Gully, Bull Bay.
The 75-year-old was suspected of having been kidnapped by Morrison and Foreman. A targeted operation was carried out by a police team later that day at approximately 3:30 p.m. in Taylor Land, Nine Miles, Bull Bay.
While the team was operating in Version Gully, a group of men who were allegedly armed with rifles and handguns opened fire on them. The officers returned fire, and after the shooting subsided, Foreman and Morrison were found with gunshot wounds.
Foreman reportedly had a rifle beside him when he was found, while Morrison was lying beside a pistol. They were later pronounced dead after being transported to a hospital.
The shooting was reported to the Independent Commission of Investigation (INDECOM) and the Inspectorate and Professional Standards Oversight Bureau (IPROB). Foreman, a former resident of Green Vale, was allegedly the head of the Taylor Land Gang and was wanted for assault at common law and illegal possession of a firearm.
The Taylor Land Gang has also been linked to several criminal offences, including shootings, murders, and multiple unreported sexual offences in the community.
