The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has formally charged a tattoo artist with murder following the shooting of two men in Kingston 11, which resulted in the death of one of the gunshot victims.
The accused has been identified as Nicky Morgan, who also went by the aliases ‘Tattoo’, ‘Criminal’, and ‘Hot Rice’. The deceased man has been identified as Michael Sinclair. The 58-year-old vendor, who also used the alias ‘Fruits Man’, was a resident of Majesty Garden, Kingston 11.
According to reports, the incident happened at the intersection of Majesty Garden and New Road on Sunday, June 29. At approximately 7:25 p.m. that day, Morgan allegedly drove up to Sinclair and another man and exited the vehicle with a handgun.
The thirty-three-year-old opened fire on Sinclair and the man, and both men sustained gunshot wounds. After the gunfire ended, the injured men were taken to a hospital, where Sinclair was pronounced dead.
An investigation was launched, and Morgan was later apprehended by the police during an operation. A question-and-answer session was conducted in the presence of his lawyer, and he was subsequently charged on Monday.
In addition to murder, Morgan was charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, possession of prohibited ammunition, using a firearm to commit a felony, and wounding with intent.
