A man believed to be of unsound mind in Mount James, St. Andrew, was reportedly attacked by an angry mob after he allegedly killed a resident in the community.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Sunday after a chef was chopped to death in a section of Mount James known as Water Lane. The deceased chef has been identified as Gregory Henry.
The name of the accused has not yet been shared with the public, but residents have accused him of attacking and chopping Henry to death. A motive for the attack has not been established.
However, the authorities are treating the death of the mentally ill man as an apparent act of vigilante justice. Reports state that after Henry’s murder, a group of residents launched a manhunt to track down his killer and subsequently cornered and chopped him to death in nearby bushes.
