Remains Believed to be Those of Missing St. Vincent Woman Discovered in Manchester

The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has launched an investigation following the discovery of skeleton remains believed to be those of a missing woman from St. Vincent and the Grenadines, which were found in a dwelling in Manchester.

The missing woman, 29-year-old entrepreneur Chrisanta Brown, was last seen in October 2024. According to reports, the police were called to a scene in Old England, Epping Forest, at approximately 12:05 p.m. on Thursday.

The suspected remains of the missing woman were discovered in a one-room structure after a police team arrived at the scene. The area was processed, and the body was removed for a post-mortem examination.

The Mandeville Criminal Investigations Branch is leading the investigation into the matter. The discovery of the skeleton remains follows months of heightened concern for violence against women after multiple highly publicised cases.

On May 17, the skeleton remains of the missing University of Technology (UTECH) student Anisa Dilworth were found at a beach in Portmore, St. Catherine, after she had been reported missing earlier that month. Jamar Grant, an inDrive driver, was later arrested and charged with her murder.

Later that month, the body of Dericka Rogers, a resident of Gravel Hill, Clarendon, was found in a pit in Milk River. Three people, two men and a woman, were later arrested in relation to her murder.
