Following massive public backlash online, Dancehall artiste Qwella has addressed the controversial viral video of him physically assaulting a video vixen at one of his music video shoots.
In July, a video vixen, who goes by the name of Star_doll5 on Instagram, released multiple photos and videos accusing Qwella of assaulting her. In addition to photos of her swollen, bruised face, Star also shared a video of Qwella seemingly punching her in her head.
According to Star, the incident occurred after a disagreement on set, which led to all of the video vixens ending the shoot before they had finished filming the music video. This ultimately ended with Qwella reportedly telling Star to “s*ck” her mother, and after she returned the insult, the deejay allegedly proceeded to beat her up.
Despite Star calling him out online, Qwella had remained mum about the incident, which was later resolved in private, according to label manager Danvoy Foster of Nah Change Entertainment. While at an event, Qwella discussed his altercation with Star during an interview with RETV.
When asked about the incident, Qwella questioned if the interviewer was perfect and said that no one is perfect. He also appeared to suggest that it was best that they leave the conversation there.
The artiste, who seemingly did not wish to delve too deeply into what happened, added that at the end of the day, he and Star had come to an agreement.

Shortly after the incident occurred, Qwella and Star appeared in a video together alongside Foster, who conveyed that the pair had reconciled. Foster described the incident as a sad situation but said that everyone deserved a second chance.
Despite the pair’s apparent reconciliation, some social media users have highlighted Qwella’s lack of accountability for what happened.
“Wasteman don’t want to listen to or support him/his “music”. Nobody’s perfect is not an excuse! You think someone charged with murder can tell that to the judge? Big eediat dat!” one Instagram user wrote.
