Container with Body of Man with Gunshot Wounds Found in Spanish Town

Detectives attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force are investigating the death of a man whose remains were discovered with gunshot wounds in a container in Spanish Town, St. Catherine, on Sunday night.

The body was found on the compound of Children First, a non-profit community organisation located on Monk Street. The deceased has been identified as Orlando Roper. Roper, who was also known by the alias ‘Bike Head’, was a resident of Monk Street and was employed as a labourer.

According to reports, the police were summoned to the area after explosions were heard. The 31-year-old was found lying on his back in the container on the compound with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds to his upper body.

Roper was pronounced dead after being transported to the Spanish Town Hospital. The Spanish Town police are leading the investigation into his murder.

According to the Jamaica Constabulary Force’s (JCF) Serious Crimes Report for January 1 to August 9, 2025, there have been 69 murders in the parish of St. Catherine. So far, St. Catherine North has recorded a 36.5% decrease, while St. Catherine South has recorded a 38.6% decrease when compared to the same period in 2024.
