Two Men Severely Injured After Truck Overturns in Manchester: Video

A truck driver and his passenger were rushed to the hospital after the truck they were travelling in overturned off the Winston Jones Highway in Manchester on Thursday morning, severely injuring the men.

According to reports, the incident occurred at approximately 10 a.m. when the driver seemingly began experiencing mechanical issues with the truck. The vehicle overturned in nearby bushes at the side of the road, and the driver and his passenger were rescued from the wreckage by a passerby.

The men were later transported to a hospital by the police and admitted in serious but stable condition. According to a witness at the scene of the crash, the driver, who apparently could not stop the vehicle, warned them to get out of the way as the truck sped in their direction.

“We can see the truck coming down and the man a seh, ‘Unuh tek weh uno self, tek weh unuh self’ and when we look, a pure smoke under the… truck, and eventually we end up pass it. We never know seh it would a come dung yah suh come mash up,” a motorist shared with the Jamaica Observer.

“If it was traffic coming down it would be chaos. We would have a lot of deaths,” the motorist further stated.

Another motorist who did not witness the crash described the aftermath as a total disaster.

“… From what I can see here, yes, it’s like a hurricane passed through here. It’s a total disaster. Yes, the truck is in pieces,” the man said.

The truck was severely damaged during the accident, and in footage recorded at the scene of the crash, pieces of the vehicle can be seen scattered amongst broken trees.
