After the passing of his father and niece a few years ago, Jamaican music producer Rvssian is once again mourning the loss of a close relative and announced the sudden passing of his brother on Monday.
The Head Concussion Records founder shared the news on his Instagram page. In his short statement, Russian disclosed that he found out about his brother’s death on Sunday.
The Dutty Money riddim producer also expressed that his sudden death has been hard to process.
“Yesterday I found out that my brother suddenly passed away. It’s been hard to process, and I’m still trying to come to terms with it. This is a very difficult time for me and my family. I may be quiet on social media for a while as I take time to deal with everything,” Rvssian wrote.
Prior to his brother’s death, Rvssian had been heavily promoting his latest riddim, Story Book. He shared in his statement that he and his team will do their best to finish releasing the songs that are featured on the riddim.
“I will try to finish the delivery of “Story Book Riddim” with the help of my team. It’s something I started before all of this happened, and even though things are heavy right now, I will do my best to complete it out of respect for the artistes who gave their time and energy to be part of it,” Rvssian stated.
The producer went on to thank everyone for their love and support.

Rvssian, born Tarik Johnston, lost his father, Michael ‘Micron’ Johnston, the founder of Micron Music Limited, in 2021. After announcing his father’s death on August 23, tragedy hit Rvssian’s family again a few days later when his niece Staphani “Steffie” Gregg passed away.
The twenty-six-year-old, who had been hospitalised in Florida, died from COVID-19 complications on August 31.
