Two teenagers, an 18-year-old girl and a 17-year-old boy, were killed during two separate motor vehicle crashes in Hanover Sunday evening.
Neither of the crash victims’ identities was disclosed in the newly shared police report. According to reports, the first incident occurred at approximately 6 p.m. along Norman Manley Boulevard.
The accident involved a Sedan and a sport utility vehicle. Reports state that the 18-year-old was a passenger, but it is not clear which vehicle she was travelling in.
While the police’s report did not disclose how the crash occurred, excessive speeding with no regard for conditions, error of judgement, negligence, and losing control were listed as possible reasons.
The second motor vehicle crash occurred less than three hours later along the Lances Bay main road. The 17-year-old male died after the 2024 Cobra motorcycle he was travelling on as a pillion rider collided with a Toyota Axio and a Toyota Mark X. Listed as possible causes of the crash were failing to keep to the proper traffic lane/improper lane use, inattention/error of judgement, and losing control.
