Body Believed to be that of Missing Businessman Found in Old Harbour

The authorities discovered a body in Old Harbour on Thursday, believed to be that of a St. Catherine businessman who was reported missing earlier this month.

The businessman, Humphry Brown, was last seen on Friday, July 11. The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) featured Brown’s missing persons report on their Instagram page on July 12.

According to the JCF’s report, Brown, who is of brown complexion, medium build, and about 6 feet tall, was last seen at about 11:15 p.m. at his home at Piccadilla Drive, Willowdene, in St. Catherine. The businessman was last seen wearing grey shorts with orange stripes and a pair of grey slippers.

Reports state that Brown left his home in his Mercedes-Benz motor car after receiving a phone call. Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Brown was asked to contact the Spanish Town police.

It is not clear what intelligence led investigators to a location in Thetford, Old Harbour, where human remains were found in a shallow grave. Prior to the discovery of the remains, two people were reportedly detained during a operation in Linstead on Tuesday in relation to Brown’s disappearance.

According to journalist Andre Williams, the 43-year-old’s motor vehicle was found in St. Ann on Wednesday.
