‘Gully Bop’ Reportedly Killed by the Police on Red Hills Road

Reports indicate that a man was allegedly shot and killed by members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) on Red Hills Road in Kingston on Wednesday.

Although the full name of the deceased remains unconfirmed, reports indicate that he went by the name ‘Steve’.

Steve, also known by the alias ‘Gully Bop’, was employed as a ‘loader’ (someone who urges potential passengers to enter a particular public passenger vehicle) in Half-Way Tree.

Steve is said to have been wearing a light blue shirt and dark blue shorts at the time of his death.

The details surrounding the alleged shooting have not yet been confirmed.

A rifle was reportedly seized from the scene of the incident.

The number of people fatally shot by the police since the beginning of the year has surpassed 183, a more than 100% increase when compared to the same period last year.
