Man Killed by the Police After Allegedly Stabbing His Cousin to Death

A man was fatally shot by the police during an alleged confrontation after he stabbed his cousin to death in Rae Town, Kingston, on Sunday.

The deceased man has been identified as Rashad Watson, while his cousin has been identified as Niesha Williams. According to reports, Watson stabbed Williams at approximately 3:30 p.m. yesterday.

She was later rushed to a hospital where she was pronounced dead. Williams, a mother of two, was weeks away from celebrating her 44th birthday on July 29.

The authorities were notified after the incident occurred, and a police team responded to the scene. Watson allegedly attacked the officers after they attempted to apprehend him.

The officers reportedly took evasive action and shot and killed him at the scene. The Independent Commission of Investigations (INDECOM) has been informed of the incident.

The details of the events leading to Watson attacking his cousin are currently under investigation. While a motive for the stabbing has not yet been established, reports state that Williams and Rashad had issues over the past few years.

According to journalist Andre Williams, the cousins lived across the street from each other. Watson had reportedly repeatedly threatened to take Williams’ life on multiple occasions for more than five years.
