The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is probing the shooting death of a man at a recording studio in Manchester on Thursday night.

The deceased man has been identified as Garnet Morant. The thirty-year-old was a mason by profession and resided in the Harmons district where the incident occurred.

According to reports, loud explosions were heard when Morant was at the recording studio at about 9:15 p.m. The police were notified, and Morant’s body was later found with gunshot wounds.

Reports state that the construction worker had been shot multiple times in his upper body. He was transported to the Mandeville Regional Hospital, where he was pronounced dead by the medical staff.

Morant’s murder is currently being investigated by the Porus Criminal Investigation Branch. Morant is one of three people who were attacked and shot by gunmen in the parish over the past four days.

Only one of the victims survived their injuries. According to the JCF’s Serious Crimes report for January 1 to July 5, 2025, and the comparative period for 2024, Manchester recorded 13 murders up to July 5.
