The Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) has launched an investigation into the murder of a man whose wounded body was found in his bed on Wednesday in St. Mary.
The deceased man has been identified as Elvis Moore. The fifty-five-year-old, who was also known by the aliases ‘Speng’ and ‘Supa’, was a higgler by profession.
According to reports, residents in the community of Top Albany, where Moore resided, heard loud explosions coming from the direction of his house at approximately 12:30 a.m. Later that morning, one of Moore’s relatives went to check on him at his home at about 5:40 a.m.
Upon arriving at the one-bedroom dwelling, the relative discovered that the bedroom door appeared to have been forcibly opened. It is not clear if the relative entered the room; however, the police were alerted.
Reports state that after arriving at the house, the responding officers found Moore’s body in his bed. The higgler was lying on his back with what appeared to be multiple gunshot wounds.
The wounds were reportedly located on the right side of Moore’s body. He was later pronounced dead by a doctor at the scene.
