Dancehall artiste and producer Khago took to social media to voice his anger and frustration after he was accosted by a man at Weddy Weddy on Wednesday who was allegedly sent to him by Reggae singer Ginjah. However, Ginjah has refuted those claims.
During a live stream on Thursday, Khago said that his issues with Ginja began because of a riddim that he produced. According to the deejay, artiste manager and producer Harvel ‘Gadafi’ Hart called and asked if he could feature Ginja on one of his riddims.
Khago said that he jumped at the opportunity and sent Hart a one-drop riddim that he was working on. He and Ginja later spoke, with the Reggae singer praising him as the saviour of Reggae.
Ginjah also reportedly shared that he had been taken advantage of in the past by other people in the industry. Khago said that he only asked Ginja for one thing in return, which was that he not leak the riddim, as he wanted to surprise fans.
However, Khago said that Ginjah began circulating the riddim online just two days later. According to Khago, Ginjah called and apologised.
Khago said while he could understand the singer’s eagerness to release the song, matters were made worse when Hart allegedly gave the song to another artiste. Following the series of events, Khago said he blocked Ginjah and Hart and decided not to use him on his riddim.
Amid the tension between the artistes, Khago said that he was aggressively approached by a man at Weddy Weddy who was allegedly sent by Ginjah. After he was approached for the first time, Khago decided to leave the event.
However, the man approached him a second time and allegedly grabbed him before telling him that Ginjah wanted to speak with him.
“By time me a walk out again, a di same youth dat come bredda, grab on pan me again, ‘Yow Ginjah wah talk to yuh.’ Suh him meck suh and gi mi him phone, a Ginjah in a him bed wid a big gun in a him hand a point eh up in a me face,” Khago alleged.
Khago said that he was unable to hear what was said on the video call as the music at the event was loud but accused Ginjah of continuing to point a “big fat matic” at him. The deejay shared that he has already reported the incident to the authorities.
Ginjah has denied the accusations that Khago made. The artiste said that Khago knows that he would never do anything to hurt him, so he does not understand why the artiste would make claims like that.
Ginjah also accused Khago of partying at Boom Sundays with the man he said he sent to attack him. In regard to the accusation that he pointed a gun at him over the phone, Ginjah said that the claim was pure madness.
According to Ginjah, he and Khago had no issues until he heard the song that he recorded for the riddim.
