The police are investigating a double murder in Ocho Rios, St. Ann on Wednesday evening.
A driver and a passenger of a taxi are the victims of a double murder that took place in the vicinity of the RIU hotel along Mammee Bay Road sometime after 1:00pm.
Preliminary reports suggest that the now-deceased were traveling in a grey Toyota Probox motor vehicle when they were attacked by a lone gunman posing as a passenger.
The unknown assailant opened fire on the victims, hitting them multiple times in the head before escaping in a waiting motor vehicle.
Authorities cordoned off the area as a crime scene which caused a pile-up in traffic.
The victims were taken to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital where they were both pronounced dead by doctors.
