Farmer Killed in St. Catherine Found with Homemade Gun

Investigators attached to the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) are investigating the death of a farmer who was killed in Above Rocks, St. Catherine.

The deceased has been identified as Chanderpaul Creary. Creary, who was 27 years old, was found lying in blood along a roadway in the Barnett district on Sunday night with gunshot wounds.

According to reports, prior to the discovery of the farmer’s body, residents heard explosions at around 10:15 p.m. The police were notified of the incident, and Creary was transported to the Linstead hospital, where he was later pronounced dead by the medical staff.

Creary was reportedly found with a homemade firearm in his waistband. A motive for his death has not yet been established.

The St. Catherine police are also investigating the circumstances surrounding the death of a stud farm worker in Clifton, Portmore.
The deceased, Renaldo Coates, was a resident of the area. According to reports, Coats’s remains were stumbled upon by multiple individuals at the Ham Stables Farm at around 7:15 a.m. on Sunday.

After the police were notified, Coats’ body, which was found in blood, appeared to have multiple gunshot wounds. The deceased labourer, who was 30 years old, was transported to the Spanish Town Hospital, where he was subsequently pronounced dead.
