Two Men Slapped with Charges After Allegedly Stabbing Teen to Death

The police have charged two men following the death of 19-year-old Jovean Storridge in Melbrook Heights, Harbour View, Kingston 17.

The accused have been identified as 33-year-old Anthony Howell and 33-year-old Lane Legister. The men were residents of Antonia Drive, St Andrew, and Tower Street, Kingston CSO, respectively. According to reports, the incident occurred on May 31 at approximately 11:13 a.m. while Storridge was walking along a roadway.

Howell and Legister were both allegedly armed with weapons when they approached the teen. Howell, a licensed firearm holder, was allegedly carrying his gun, while Legister had a knife. Reports state that Howell pointed his firearm at Storridge who held up his hands to try and protect himself from injury.

However, Legister allegedly proceeded to stab him in his upper body. After Storridge fled, both men reportedly pursued him and beat him up.

After the attack, Storridge was taken to the hospital by residents, but the teen died while undergoing treatment for his injuries. The police were notified about the incident, and both men were taken into custody.

A question-and-answer session was conducted in the presence of the men’s attorneys, and they were later charged with murder and assault at common law. Howell and Ledgister’s court date is in the process of being finalised.
