St. Ann Vendor Shot and Killed

The murder of a vendor from St. Ann is currently being investigated by the Ocho Rios Criminal Investigations Branch.

The deceased, 23-year-old Barrington Watson, was a resident of Ocho Rios. According to reports, the street vendor, who was also known by the alias ‘Baffu’, was home at the time the incident occurred.

At approximately 10:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Watson was pounced upon by an armed unknown assailant at his house. The gunman fled the scene after shooting Watson, who was later transported to the St. Ann’s Bay Hospital.
The vendor was later pronounced dead by doctors at the medical facility. The authorities have not yet established a motive for his murder.

Watson’s death was one of two reported deaths on Tuesday night. According to reports, a 24-year-old man was also slain last night in Kingston.

The deceased has been identified as Chaevon Peters, a resident of Greenwich Park Road in Kingston. Reports state that Peters was on a roadway known as ‘Havana’ at approximately 9:20 p.m. when he was approached by unknown assailants.

Peters was shot by the assailants, who later fled the crime scene, and he was pronounced dead at the Kingston Public Hospital. His death is currently being investigated by the Denham Town Criminal Investigations Branch.
