A mechanic has been apprehended by the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) and charged after allegedly stabbing another man to death.
The accused man has been identified as Lamar Miller. Miller, who is 21 years old, was a resident of New Harbour Village, Old Harbour, in St. Catherine.
The man Miller is accused of killing has been identified as Jerome James. James, who incidentally is also 21 years old, was also employed as a mechanic.
James was a resident of the Waterford community in St. Catherine. According to reports, James and Miller got into an altercation on the day the incident occurred earlier this month, on May 19.
The Portmore police, who disclosed that the mechanics were in an altercation before the stabbing, did not disclose what initiated the heated argument between the young men.
Reports state that the verbal altercation went on to become physical. Miller allegedly pulled out a knife and attacked James with it.
The accused allegedly stabbed James multiple times with the blade. According to reports, the deceased sustained multiple stab wounds to his upper body.
After attacking James, Miller allegedly fled the scene of the incident on foot. The police were later called, and James was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Miller was charged on Thursday, and his court date is in the process of being finalised.
