Soldier Dies in Crash in Kingston: Video

A member of the Jamaica Defence Force (JDF) was killed during a crash on Wednesday morning in Kingston.

The deceased has been identified as Everald Hendricks. Hendricks was 23 years old and resided in the community of Breadnut Walk in Ginger Hill, St Elizabeth.

According to reports from The Jamaica Star, Hendricks was travelling along the Camp Road in Kingston when the incident occurred. The authorities shared that while the young soldier was traversing the road, he lost control of his motor vehicle.

After Hendricks lost control of the car, he crashed into a fence at approximately 12:30 a.m. in the vicinity of Bert’s Auto Parts.

He was later pronounced dead at a hospital. In a video recorded at the scene of the accident, Hendricks’ car can be seen overturned on the side of the road with a badly damaged roof.

Reports state that Hendricks was a member of the Maritime, Air and Cyber Command (MACC) of the JDF. Following his death earlier today, Hendricks’ colleagues and acquaintances sent their condolences to his family via social media.

One of Hendrick’s reported friends expressed shock, as she had spoken to him just two weeks prior. Another shared that the news of his passing had shaken her to her core.
