Contractor shot and killed by licensed firearm holder

A man was shot and killed during an altercation with a licensed firearm holder in Tavern Avenue, Papine, Kingston early Tuesday morning.

The deceased has been identified as 57-year-old Norris Farquharson.

The incident was caught on CCTV.

The video shows Farquharson dressed in a reflective vest, blue jeans, a white helmet, and black shoes, running from the licensed firearm holder.

Preliminary reports suggest that the victim is said to be a contractor for a Utility company.

After the chase ended, the licensed firearm holder shot the contractor several times in the upper body.

He died on the spot.

Residents summoned the police, and on their arrival, Farquharson’s body was seen lying face down in a pool of blood.

Authorities took him to the Kingston Public Hospital, where doctors pronounced him dead.

Investigators are trying to determine what sparked the argument that escalated into a fatal confrontation.
