Following the circulation of a video showing an armed man assaulting a nurse, the firearm holder was apprehended by the police and is in custody amid an investigation.
According to reports, the incident occurred on Tuesday, but it has since gone viral due to the circulation of the video recorded by a bystander at the scene. The nurse and the man, whose identity was not shared, were traversing the Mount Airy main road in St. Andrew when an unknown incident between the drivers led to road rage.
The man allegedly attacked the woman first, dragging her from her car.
“He took her out of the car and he started manhandling her,” someone with knowledge of the incident said.
The nurse was reportedly on her way to work when it happened. In the video, the woman and the man can be seen tussling next to a car, with the nurse dragging the man by the shirt before she falls to the ground with the man on top of her.
A man in a white merino tries to intervene and pull the man away. The tussle eventually goes behind the car, and their movements are obscured. However, it appears that the man body-slammed the nurse.
In another video clip, a bystander can be heard telling the man that he can’t abuse the woman like that as he stands over her. The nurse also asks the man, “Weh mi do yuh,” before he points a gun at her.
A man in the background is heard asking, “Yah guh kill do woman fi nutting at all?” The man goes on to step on the woman’s head, causing her to scream out in pain.
