‘Dawg Teeth’, Alleged 100 Lane Don, Killed by Police

Members of the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) shot and killed the alleged don of the 100 Lane community off Red Hills Road in St. Andrew Road on Friday.

The reputed gang leader has been identified as Shaquille Dawkins. Dawkins was also known by the aliases ‘Triple Chain’ and ‘Dawg Teeth’.

According to reports, the incident happened this morning while the police conducted an operation in 100 Lane. At approximately 8 a.m., during the police’s operation in the community, the deceased allegedly confronted the officers.

The confrontation resulted in the officers shooting Dawkins. While reports have not yet confirmed if he fired at the police, a gun was reportedly seized during the incident.

Dawkins was later taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead by medical staff at the facility. Following the area leader’s death, residents of the community blocked a section of Red Hills Road across from the entrance to 100 Lane with garbage, old appliances, tyres, and drums.

The residents reportedly threatened to set the items ablaze in protest of Dawkins’s death. However, the road was later cleared, and members of the security forces were sent to monitor the community.

Dawkins’s death today is among the 105 fatal shootings involving members of the police since the beginning of the year.
