Laden’s ‘Uno Dos Tres’ Co-Signed by Vybz Kartel

Uno Dos Tres may only be the fourth of six singles that Laden has released so far this year, but the deejay’s song has already been co-signed by the ‘Worl Boss’ himself, Vybz Kartel.

Uno Dos Tres sees Laden teaming up with Coke Records to release a single the artiste described as a “personal vibe” during an interview on CVM TV. In addition to discussing what inspired the song, Laden performed the single on the network’s morning show, CVM at Sunrise.

Patrons at one of Kingston’s most popular night spots, Club MECA, were also treated to a performance of Uno Dos Tres by Laden. The single’s title is a play on the Jamaican phrase ‘Mi Nah Play 3’, with Laden cleverly switching out Patois for Spanish.

Uno Dos Tres was released on March 14 and the song’s song’s intro opens with Laden pondering the cruelty of mankind before the deejay heads directly into the chorus.

“When dem ask if mi good, a just yes. Dem wah mi play uno, dos, tres. Tru yuh lazy meck you nuh buss yet and a ask fi help yuh nuh mus get. Jah help those who help themselves. Too strong; mi neva beg dem strength,” Laden deejays.

Uno Dos Tres is a critique of the haters and faultfinders judging Laden’s career, and the deejay simultaneously condemns them while delivering a message of upliftment. It did not take long for the track to garner attention from the deejay’s industry peers, with Chino, Kranium, and Jesse Royal endorsing the song.

Laden’s biggest endorsement is no doubt from Vybz Kartel, who shared the song on his Instagram account with his more than 3 million followers.
