The Irwin High School in St. James has been plunged into mourning following the passing of a female student who was mowed down by a Mobay Metro bus on Wednesday.
The high school student was identified as Deanna Solomon, a 7th-grade student.
Deanna was outside the school compound when she was struck by a speeding bus.
The teenager was then taken to the Cornwall Regional Hospital to receive treatment for multiple broken bones.
The teen succumbed to her injuries on Wednesday night.
Exams were suspended following the incident.
